BT Funds Management wins FundSource Fund Manager of the Year

BT Funds Management NZ wins FundSource 2017 Fund Manager of the Year

A high quality team and strong investment decision-making processes were crucial in Westpac NZ’s funds management arm, BT Funds Management NZ, winning the FundSource 2017 Fund Manager of the Year Award, says Westpac NZ General Manager Marketing, Product and Transformation, Andrew Kerr.

The annual FundSource Awards recognise the top performing fund managers in New Zealand. BT Funds Management NZ (BTNZ) is responsible for managing over $11 billion of funds (as at 31 July 2017).

Mr Kerr said BTNZ was up against some strong competition, especially given the awards were open to Australian managers for the first time.

“It’s brilliant to be recognised as the overall manager of the year. It’s a real acknowledgement of our team and their commitment to delivering strong investment outcomes for all our investors.

“I am very proud to be part of a team that continues to be recognised as a top quality investment manager. This is reflected both in this win and the fact the Westpac KiwiSaver Scheme has held a Platinum rating from research provider SuperRatings for three years running.”

In accepting the award, BTNZ Head of Investment Solutions, Matthew Goldsack, noted the contribution of both the excellent in-house team and the range of investment managers selected to manage some of the underlying assets in BTNZ’s funds, in achieving their success.

“Our team of professional investment managers is dedicated to providing a range of investment options that help New Zealanders reach their investment goals and it’s great to be recognised for our investment credentials.”

BTNZ also received the 2017 Fund Manager of the Year Australasian Property Sector award for the Westpac Premium Investment Property Fund.
