ClearPoint marks 10th birthday with appointment of Air NZ’s Hamish Rumbold as new CEO
New Zealand software engineering specialists ClearPoint are marking their 10th birthday milestone with an exciting announcement - the appointment of their new CEO Hamish Rumbold.
As the current Group General Manager of Digital Customer Products & Retailing for Air New Zealand, Hamish will help build on ClearPoint’s past decade of rapid growth, including a strong performance in FY16 in which they achieved 35% growth.
ClearPoint’s Chairperson John Quirk, says after an extensive search, Hamish is the ideal candidate to help drive ClearPoint forward into the next decade.
“We’re thrilled to secure a leader of Hamish’s calibre,” says John. “As an ambitious strategic thinker and leader, Hamish has proven experience in building high performing teams which drive strong commercial growth.”
“His specific experience using technology and customer centred design to drive business transformation and grow revenue, will ensure we continue to deliver the best outcomes for our clients,” says John. “We believe these skills will be invaluable in helping ClearPoint become known as world-leading digital enablers,” he adds.
Hamish will take over the helm from current CEO and Co-Founder Phil Pietersen. Phil says in addition to his leadership experience, Hamish is an excellent fit with ClearPoint’s culture of putting people first and continual learning.
“What makes us different is our people,” says Phil. “We have a diverse team - world leading thinkers and doers of interdisciplinary backgrounds, all driven by a passion for technology and a desire to get the best outcomes for our clients. We believe Hamish shares this passion and will bring renewed energy and focus to the role.”
The announcement comes at an exciting time in ClearPoint’s history as they celebrate their 10th birthday. ClearPoint Co-Founder and CTO Bain Hollister says seeing the company grow from a handful of employees when they first started in 2007, to 175 staff has been an epic experience.
“Our success over the past decade is testament to the incredible people who’ve been part of our journey – both our clients and our team,” says Bain. “We’re really excited to see how the next 10 years unfold and are delighted to have Hamish lead the next phase of our journey.”
Hamish will assume the role of CEO on Monday the 20th of November 2017.
