Wellington Community Trust Appoints New Chief Executive – Georgie Ferrari
Georgie Ferrari has been appointed chief executive of the Wellington Community Trust, replacing Mark Cassidy who
departed in February 2017.
Georgie brings more than 25 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector, working in the areas of youth, health,
housing, disability, education and violence prevention in New Zealand, New South Wales and Victoria. Serving as the
Chief Executive Officer for the Youth Affairs Council of Victoria for the last 14 years, Georgie has returned home to
Wellington to take on this role to lead the implementation of Wellington Community Trust’s new strategic vision,
investment portfolio and granting framework.
The Trust was established in 1988 following the merger of TrustBank, has $65 million under funds management and
distributes around $1.6 million to regional community projects each year.
Before moving to Australia, Georgie was the programme manager for the YWCA of Wellington and Hutt Valley for five years.
Having planned her return home for almost five years, Georgie is delighted to be coming back to Wellington, to take up
the exciting role of Chief Executive with the Wellington Community Trust – starting on August 21. “I love the vibrancy
and heart of the Wellington region. I can’t wait to return and starting working again with the local communities and
organisations.”
Ms Ferrari will start the position on 21 August 2017.
