ITC named finalist in New Zealand Social Media Awards

The International Travel College of New Zealand (ITC) has been recognised for its outstanding social media efforts by the New Zealand Social Media Awards (#NZSMA).

ITC is a finalist in the International category for its social media campaigns focused on export markets.

“We have used some innovative campaigns and methods to reach international students, and it’s fantastic to be recognised for our creativity in this area,” says ITC Marketing Director Claire Huxley.

“Social media has always been a core piece of our marketing strategy at the College. Internationally, we use it to connect with potential students and enter markets where we have no or limited presence. We used a series of campaigns and targeting methods to reach these students and spread the word about our qualifications.”

The ITC Facebook page has over 100,000 likes and excellent engagement levels. ITC also has a strong presence on Instagram and Twitter.

“Social media allows us to connect directly with students who have a genuine passion for the tourism industry and a desire to pursue a tourism career,” says Claire.

“It’s an incredible tool that we leverage to inform students about their career choices and generate enrolments for the College.”

ITC is joined by four other finalists in the International category: ANZ, How To Dad, JUCY/Visit Noosa, and Taste New Zealand.

“We’re honoured to feature alongside such iconic New Zealand businesses and we look forward to seeing who comes out on top!” says Claire.

Winners will be announced at an awards event on August 23 at Shed 10 in downtown Auckland.
