Fiordland Outdoors Company wins Innovation Category to secure Nurture Change Scholarship
When innovation and tourism collide, the results are pure magic. This is especially true for the Fiordland Outdoors Company, who have just been named the winners of the Innovation Category in the 2017 Nurture Change scholarship awards.
Director Mark Wallace couldn’t quite believe it when he heard the news.
“We couldn’t be prouder – we realize now that innovation has been core to what we have done from the very beginning. Winning this award has made us think differently about ourselves,” he says.
The scholarship rewards inspiring businesses with the opportunity to go to the Nurture Change conference, where those attending network and learn from some of the brightest business minds in the country.
Named by the judges as a ‘great example of innovation to other tourism companies across the country’, the Fiordland Outdoors Company crafts outdoor experiences visitors will never forget. From exploring Fiordland to guided fly-fishing, Mark and his team are passionate about crafting trips their guests will never forget.
The Fiordland Outdoors Company is well known in the industry for their focus on hosting. Going over and above to take care of clients in order for them to have an experience they’ll always remember is core to their ethos.
Mark and his wife Christine, a key part of the company herself, will attend Nurture Change in Fiji November – something they say is going to be incredibly exciting for the business.
“Being able to learn from people like Dan Alpe, co-founder of Jucy, is something we’ll relish. Having access to such high quality talent and clever minds is going to be a real game changer for us.”
