School holidays here we come!! Coronet Peak opens all lifts

Coronet Peak, Queenstown’s closest ski field, opened all eight of its lifts yesterday (Thurs, 29th June), one of the first in New Zealand to do so. The timing is great with School Holidays about to kick off.

Coronet Peak Ski Area Manager Nigel Kerr says the final lift – the Rocky Gully T-bar – opened yesterday.

“The biggest snowmaking system in the Southern hemisphere has proved its worth yet again and allowed us to be the first ski area in New Zealand to open all our lifts just in time for the busy School holidays.”

“It’s been a very busy first 10 days of winter here at the Peak, and we’re looking forward to more.”

Coronet Peak has a number of great school holiday lesson programs including the Mountain Holiday Program - Group ski lessons for 5 - 15 year olds running over five consecutive days, The Kea Club – a full-day of fun lessons for 5 - 15 year olds and Skiwiland – a registered Early Childhood Centre, catering for children from three months up to 5 years of age, with ski lessons included for ages 3 to five years.
