MTA has appointed Auckland independent director Mark Gilbert as one of its two directors on the DEKRA New Zealand Board, the governing body for VTNZ.
He joins MTA President Dave Harris and takes over from Mark Darrow, whose term ends this month.
Dave Harris says Mark
Gilbert’s background and credentials are ideally suited to
DEKRA NZ.
“He is knowledgeable and passionate about the
automotive sector, with experience at the retail, corporate
and governance levels.”
Among his current interests, Mr Gilbert is an independent director for Auckland Transport, he is Chairman of Drive Electric and a member of the Ministry of Transport electric vehicle leadership group. He is also a former managing director of BMW New Zealand Ltd.
VTNZ Chief Executive Mike Walsh has welcomed the appointment. “Mark Gilberts brings a lot of valuable industry knowledge to the table, particularly through his role with Auckland Transport and his work in the electric vehicle space.”
Dave Harris says “Mark’s experience in business acquisition and development, customer focus and marketing will add depth to the work of the DEKRA board and may well open up new opportunities.
