The search for Beautiful kiwis, communities and places has begun
Entries are now open for the 2017 Beautiful Awards, a Keep New Zealand Beautiful gala dinner and award evening to
celebrate environmental excellence in Aotearoa.
If you are a local environmental hero or think your town, city or public toilets are the best in the country send in a
nomination by visiting www.knzb.org.nz.
Keep New Zealand Beautiful chief executive officer Heather Saunderson says, “The Beautiful Awards acknowledges beautiful
kiwis who are leading the way with their outstanding environmental and beautification work.
“We also celebrate beautiful councils and businesses for the magnificent work they have done and announce the most
beautiful street, suburb, town and cities in New Zealand.”
Hastings mayor Lawrence Yule said winning the Most Beautiful City award in 2015 gave the residents a real sense of
pride.
"I do believe that we live in one of the most beautiful places in New Zealand and that is saying something, given the
entire country is spectacular. Winning the award put a real focus on our special places for both Council and our
people."
"I recommend that every town, city and district consider entering. A bonus is being able to use the material prepared
for the award across all platforms to share the snapshot of your most wonderful places with your residents and visitors
alike."
