Hertz welcomes its first Plug-in Hybrid vehicle in Auckland
22 May 2017 - Starting this May, environmentally-conscious drivers can rent the popular Outlander PHEV hybrid SUV from Hertz in Auckland, which features an improved, built-in, fast charge option.
Mark Righton, Country Manager, Hertz New Zealand, said: “We’re thrilled to be able to offer the 2017 Outlander PHEV from Mitsubishi with its extended battery range and DC Fast Charge capability. We know this is important to both our business and leisure customers on tight time schedules.”
The Outlander PHEV, our first hybrid offering in the country, offers options for on-the-go or overnight charging to suit any driver. The 2017 Outlander PHEV has a DC Fast Charge socket alongside the standard AC main connection point, which gives the driver the choice of a fast charge on the road in about 20 minutes.
The Outlander can also be fully charged from empty overnight in around 6.5 hours from a standard power socket. Its fuel economy, 5-star safety rating, revised suspension and smart interior also promise a safe and enjoyable journey to Hertz customers choosing this vehicle.
In addition to sustainable, emission-free driving, the next generation Outlander includes seamless three-switch driving modes – maximising driving performance from its twin electric motors and efficient petrol engine.
The 2017 model includes enhanced smartphone technology. Drivers can connect their mobile devices within the Smartphone Link Display Audio feature. The vehicle’s touchscreen provides turn-by-turn navigation, personal assistant support and multimedia connectivity.
“This will appeal to our out of town customers because in addition to a 7-inch, dash-mounted touch screen, the car can read text messages, find directions to a destination, navigate a journey and play their favourite music at the same time,” concluded Mark.
Hertz New Zealand’s first plug-in Mitsubishi Outlander hybrid vehicle is exclusively available at Auckland Airport. To book your next rental, or for more information, please visit: www.hertz.co.nz.
