DuraBuild Construction tenders for Northern Motorway extension project
DuraBuild Construction has put forward their tender for the construction of temporary buildings which are to be used by engineers, surveyors and other personnel working on the northern motorway extension.
The project, set to begin later year will involve constructing all of the decking and stairs around the pre-fabricated units, making a more comfortable working environment for workers on the road.
“We are excited to tender for this project and really hope to land it”, comments DuraBuild Warkworth Director, Mike Bronkhorst.
“As a local Warkworth business, myself and most of my staff grew up in the area, so it would be great to work on a large project like this that will really benefit the region when completed.”
Building will take place down Wyllie Road, just west of the Warkworth Township and will feature an off-ramp to the town.
With the prospect of becoming better connected to Auckland City, the Warkworth and Matakana regions have been earmarked in the Auckland Councils’ ten year plan as the greatest area of population growth.
Bronkhorst believes this will bring greater opportunities to local businesses owners, particularly those in service industries.
“The construction industry here is already booming, but with more houses being built and more people moving to the area, we will need more service based business to cater to the growing needs of the Warkworth population”.
The extension, from Puhoi to Te Hana will open in 2021 and will cost an estimated 1.7 billion to complete. DuraBuild Construction will find out if their tender was successful later next month.
