Bed & Breakfast Association Elects New President
Bed & Breakfast Association NEW ZEALAND elected a new President at its AGM held on Saturday 29 April – Rayma Jenkins.
Outgoing President, Kathryn Officer, who has resigned after having held the position for three years, said “I have
enormous faith in Rayma as our new president and with her experience and dedication to the Bed & Breakfast Association and our industry sector, I know she will lead the Association well.”
Rayma Jenkins has served on the Association’s Board since 2014 as the Vice President. During this time she held
responsibility for the Association’s assessment programme, ensuring all members meet the Association’s standards helping
to protect members and their businesses; and giving assurance to travellers that Association properties provide a first
class quality experience.
Rayma Jenkins has extensive experience in the Bed & Breakfast Industry having run her award winning bed and breakfast property, Cobden Garden, Napier, for the past 16
years. In September 2015 Cobden Garden won the Accommodation Category in the Hawke’s Bay Tourism Industry Awards. Rayma
is also the Convenor of the Hawke’s Bay Regional Bed & Breakfast Association Group and is the Bed & Breakfast representative at the monthly meeting of tourism representatives organised by the Hawke’s Bay Tourism RTO.
In announcing the appointment of Rayma Jenkins as President to the AGM, Kathryn advised “I am delighted to see that the
future of the Bed & Breakfast Association and home hosting sector of the tourism industry in New Zealand is in really good shape but we
can’t rest on our laurels. There’s more work yet to be done and I am positive that Rayma’s experience and dedication to
the Bed & Breakfast Association and Industry will serve us well.”
