CITY CARE TIPS INNOVATION SCALE TO SECURE NEW FULL FACILITIES MAINTENANCE CONTRACT IN AUCKLAND SOUTH
Auckland Council has awarded City Care a 5-year term, Full Facilities Maintenance contract for the maintenance and management of all community-owned Facilities and Parks in Auckland South, commencing July 1st 2017.
In a recent media statement, Auckland Council confirmed that identifying innovative suppliers was a key part of its four month long procurement process. Auckland Council’s General Manager Community Facilities, Rod Sheridan, noted: ‘The procurement process looked at how suppliers could meet our requirements to deliver the most cost-effective solutions, reduce duplication of services, embrace world leading and emerging technology and introduce new social and environmental targets for management and maintenance of our assets and spaces.’
‘The drivers for this procurement process talk directly to our business strategy,’ explains City Care CEO, Onno Mulder. ‘Bundling services together and utilising innovation and technology solutions to drive efficiency and give tangible client benefits is already at the core of our service delivery.
‘We also enjoy a shared vision for having the best interests of the ratepayers at heart and for the ongoing development of a community-invested workforce.’
With significant Facilities Maintenance (FM) and Open Space Maintenance (OSM) council contracts already in place around the country, the new Auckland South contract cements City Care’s position as one of New Zealand’s leading FM & OSM service provider.
‘The win is also a direct reflection of the outstanding work that our West OSM team have delivered over the past 5 years,’ continued Onno, ‘and demonstrates the confidence that Auckland Council has in our team to continue to deliver outstanding service in the future, under the new contract model.’
City Care has held the West Parks Maintenance contract since 2012 and has been instrumental in helping Auckland Council win International Green Flag Awards for Parrs Park, Olympic Park and Waikumete Cemetery. City Care also currently holds one of Watercare’s two external contracts to deliver water and wastewater maintenance services to the people of Auckland.
