TSB Bank wins Consumer NZ’s People’s Choice Award for the second year running
TSB Bank has won the Consumer NZ People’s Choice award for Banking for the second year in a row.
People’s Choice winners are identified through detailed analysis of Consumer NZ surveys. The banking survey is a nationally representative sample of 1085 Kiwis aged 18 and over and asks respondents to rate their main bank across a number of variables.
To achieve the People’s Choice award, a brand must stand out in terms of customer satisfaction. TSB Bank shares the 2017 award with two other New Zealand owned banks but we the top overall customer satisfaction result at 87%.
Consumer NZ general manager – business, Derek Bonnar said the local banks outperformed the Australian owned rivals. “Our survey found these three New Zealand-owned banks were a step ahead when it came to customer satisfaction.
Two-thirds of TSB and Kiwibank customers rated doing business with a New Zealand-owned company as a key benefit. Local bank customers were also less likely to be paying monthly account fees – as a result, they were more likely to feel the bank’s fees were reasonable.”
TSB Bank CEO Kevin Murphy is proud of the result. “We are delighted to be awarded the Consumer NZ People's Choice award for Banking for a second year in a row. We were also pleased to have the highest customer satisfaction score of all the banks at 87%. Being recognised by the public for our exceptional customer service, amongst much larger competitors, tells us that our efforts to satisfy our customers remain a cut above the rest.”
Consumer NZ is an independent, not for profit organisation.
