nominal terms (unadjusted for inflation):
• From
2011–16, Tasman and Nelson’s economy increased 19.0
percent (below the national movement of 23.8 percent).
During this period, Tasman and Nelson’s contribution to
GDP decreased 0.1 percentage points.
• The 2011–16
increase was broad-based, led by retail trade,
owner-occupied property operation, and fishing, forestry,
and mining.
• In 2014, Tasman and Nelson’s GDP
increased 7.4 percent, primarily due to the agriculture
industry.
• In 2015, Tasman and Nelson’s economy
increased 2.7 percent. The increase was led by health care
and social assistance, offsetting a 24.1 percent decrease in
agriculture.
• In 2016, Tasman and Nelson’s GDP
increased 2.9 percent. This was led by the transport,
postal, and warehousing industry.
