J R McKenzie Trust appoints prominent not-for-profit leader as new Executive Director
Established charitable
trust, J R McKenzie Trust, has appointed Robyn Scott as its
new Executive Director.
Ms Scott has twenty years’ experience in the community and voluntary sectors working to improve the lives of New Zealanders. In her ten years as Executive Director of Philanthropy New Zealand, she developed a very broad knowledge of the sector, and propelled the organisation into a prominent national leadership role.
She further demonstrated her leadership skills as a Director at the Ministry of Youth Development, Chief Executive of Age Concern NZ and Education Manager at the Commission for Financial Capability. In addition to these roles she has held many governance roles, including that of Families Commissioner, and being a member of ACART (Advisory Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology) and various other Ministerial Advisory Committees.
Patrick Cummings, Chair of J R McKenzie Trust, said Ms Scott’s deep knowledge of philanthropy, strong relationships in the sector and extensive commitment to social causes sees her well aligned with J R McKenzie Trust.
“Robyn brings a wealth of talent and experience to the position. We look forward to working with Robyn to make the greatest contribution possible towards our vision of a socially just and inclusive Aotearoa New Zealand.”
Ms Scott starts in
the role on 1 May. Outgoing Executive Director Iain Hines
will continue working with the Trust on specific projects,
including the Peter McKenzie Project, which is focused on
reducing poverty among New Zealand children and
