AA Smartfuel boosts offering with Contact Energy
There’s no sign of AA Smartfuel taking its foot off the pedal with the announcement of a new partner – one of New Zealand’s leading energy companies, Contact Energy.
Launching in the coming weeks, the move sees Contact Energy join Slingshot, Countdown and Mix & Match by House of Travel and Hoot Cruises as the latest additions to the AA Smartfuel programme, which comprises more than 1500 retailers nationwide.
Ian Sutcliffe, Director, AA Smartfuel says the programme’s 2.2 million cardholders are constantly looking for new ways to boost their fuel savings.
“Along with fuel and food, electricity is a key priority for most New Zealand families,” says Mr Sutcliffe. “With Contact Energy on board, we’re able to offer an easy and valuable way to accumulate even more fuel savings by being a Contact customer.
“This will contribute to cardholders’ growing fuel savings balance and, with the instant savings at the pump, cater for the needs of today’s customers who seek instant gratification and rewards.”
Vena Crawley, Chief Customer Officer, Contact Energy says they are excited to partner with one of New Zealand’s leading rewards programmes after waving goodbye to Fly Buys.
"Our customers have told us that when it comes to rewards they want a more instant and generous rewards programme. Our customers want value discounts and cash back in their wallets, and as a result we will be introducing an exciting new suite of customer reward options in the coming months.
"For us it's about continually enhancing the great service and value we can provide our customers, and part of this includes providing more instant rewards relating to goods they buy regularly in their everyday lives.
Contact Energy provides electricity, natural gas, and LPG to about 550,000 customers nationwide and is one of the country’s largest listed companies.
“Kiwis can see their fuel savings grow by earning AA Smartfuel discounts at Countdown, BP, Caltex and now Contact, along with hundreds of other partners,” says Mr Sutcliffe.
“The scope and mix of retailers in our stable is growing as many see the benefit in being able to engage with customers who show loyalty to AA Smartfuel partners.”
Established in 2011, Kiwi start-up AA Smartfuel is now the country’s largest fuel loyalty programme, widely recognised for instant fuel discounts and accumulated fuel savings.
