AMINZ welcomes honour

The Arbitrators’ and Mediators’ Institute of New Zealand (AMINZ) has welcomed the naming of its former president, Derek Firth, in the latest New Year Honours.

Mr Firth, a barrister and arbitrator, was today made a Member of the Order of New Zealand.

A former New Zealand alternate member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration and an AMINZ Fellow, Mr Frith has made his biggest impact in the realm of construction disputes, where he has enjoyed numerous appointments.

Internationally, he recently worked on two projects funded jointly by the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and AusAID.

"The Institute is thrilled with Mr Firth’s latest official recognition, and congratulates him on having his work celebrated in the latest Honours," AMINZ Executive Director Deborah Hart said.
