Multi-talented sales executive joins Ziptrek marketing team
A passion for ziplining has brought Kellie McKenzie full circle – from working for parent company Ziptrek Ecotours in Whistler, Canada, to a new role in Queenstown’s Ziptrek Ecotours.
Australian-born Kellie worked in Whistler for two years before making the move to Queenstown nearly two-and-a-half years ago.
Within days of arriving in New Zealand’s tourism mecca she was back in the Ziptrek ‘family fold’, working as the company’s Guest Services lead, before guiding for a summer and moving into the Guest Services supervisor role.
Now she’s joined Ziptrek’s sales and marketing team as a full-time Sales Executive responsible for driving sales through wholesale and trade markets.
Ziptrek Ecotours Sales and Marketing Manager Nicky Busst says Kellie will be a “great asset” for the team.
"I was super excited that Kellie applied, enabling her to step up and take on this important sales role, which is totally in keeping with both her skillset and passion.
“Kellie’s going to be a great asset to Ziptrek in strengthening our relationship within the trade space, and also in continuing to grow our awareness and market share in the conference and incentive arena, which we’ve seen go from strength to strength over the last 12 to 18 months."
Kellie says her latest role within Ziptrek is a “dream come true” for her, and reflects her commitment to the company here and its parent company overseas.
“When I worked in Whistler I started as a Guest Services agent and within six months I was one of the GS Seniors, in charge of all final interviews, recruitment decisions and team training for summer.
“I worked with 30 new staff from all around the world, loved my role and made many lifelong friends.
“Now I feel I’ve come full circle with my new role with Ziptrek Ecotours in Queenstown and with my experience in all areas of the business I’m looking forward to spreading the Ziptrek ‘word’ even further.”
Kellie’s new role sees her driving the group and inbound business for Ziptrek at national and international trade events, and establishing new opportunities within the Conference and Incentives (C) sector.
