Android Pay Now Available at BP

MEDIA RELEASE 1 December 2016

Android Pay Now Available at BP

Retail payments are set to become even easier with Android Pay launching at BP stores today.

BP’s Head of Retail Debi Boffa says this is the latest in a series of offers available at BP to make payments simpler, more convenient and secure.

“We’re constantly looking at new ways to help our customers tap in to faster ways to pay and we’ve teamed up with Google to help us deliver that,” she says.

“Android Pay gives our customers another convenient way to pay with their mobile devices.”

Google’s Global Head of Payments Products Pali Bhat says Google is excited to bring the simplicity and security of mobile payments to BP customers with Android Pay.

“Instead of sifting through your wallet for plastic cards, Android Pay lets you make contactless payments with a swift tap of your Android smartphone,” he says.

BNZ customers will be able to use Android Pay at BP starting from today.

Android Pay is a simple secure, mobile payments system that works with Android devices running KitKat (4.4) or higher and is available across BP’s entire New Zealand network.
