Cruise New Zealand extends our deepest sympathies to the families of the victims of today’s tragic accidents.
Cruise New Zealand is supporting our members, as well as the tour and coach company involved. All companies involved are well known and respected New Zealand operators.
All parties have offered their full cooperation to the Police as they investigate these accidents.
Today’s accidents are highly unusual. The health and safety practices of all tour operators used by cruise ship passengers are closely scrutinised by the cruise ground handlers, and we want to reassure cruise visitors to New Zealand that their safety is paramount at all times.
