Kiwis to enjoy faster speeds and lower prices with Vodafone Home Wireless Broadband
Vodafone has announced details of its Home Wireless Broadband product, which will soon deliver superfast broadband speeds to Kiwi households over New Zealand’s 4G network in
December.
Vodafone Consumer Director Matt Williams said, “Home Wireless Broadband has been designed especially for Kiwis who are
frustrated by slow and unreliable internet access via Chorus’ ageing copper network”.
“Kiwis are spending more time online – they’re watching videos on multiple devices and old-style ADSL plans delivered
over the copper phone network simply don’t cut it anymore. Even if you’re a relatively light internet user, issues like
buffering are still really frustrating,” added Matt Williams.
Home Wireless Broadband will solve all that with a step up to faster 4G broadband speeds, and a step down in price.
There is no need for a phone jack or a copper line into the home - customers simply plug the 4G modem into a power point
and they’re ready to go.
“Customer feedback about the ‘DIY plug and play’ installation process and in-home experience has helped us to design and
deliver a great customer experience from start to finish. The 4G modem is WiFi capable for up to 30 devices and can also
support wireless printers and hard drives,” Matt said.
Product design draws on Vodafone’s heritage and expertise in delivering wireless broadband solutions to rural customers
as part of the government’s rural broadband initiative (RBI).
Home Wireless Broadband is currently being offered to existing Vodafone ADSL customers with slow copper speeds who are
in 4G coverage areas that are considered ‘good’ or ‘excellent’. It will be available to new customers through all
Vodafone’s channels in December.
