Switch On! at Ingram Micro Showcase 2016
Auckland, New Zealand, 10 November 2016 – Ingram Micro, New Zealand’s largest distributor of technology products, says that Showcase 2016, its premier event being held later this month in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland, is the biggest and best yet.
“Showcase 2016 will deliver outstanding opportunities for technology resellers and their customers to see the latest technology in use. It’s also a chance to hear from a diverse range of keynote speakers what it all means and how it can best be deployed for business advantage,” says Gary Bigwood, Managing Director, Ingram Micro New Zealand.
Bigwood says the theme of Showcase this year is “Switching On” and is a reflection of how new technologies and solutions, from wireless ambulances to connected classrooms, are being switched on every day around the country.
“The exponential growth in the New Zealand ICT industry is the strongest proof of the scale and speed at which New Zealand's digital transformation is taking place. The theme for Showcase 2016 highlights that; but it’s not only about “Switching On” new technologies – it’s also about “Switching On” to all of the innovative business opportunities that new technologies can enable.”
“Ultimately it’s all about understanding how technology really is changing the way New Zealanders live, work and play. That’s why we are strongly emphasising to all our partners that their customers are also more than welcome to attend. We want them to come along and see first-hand the business benefits that are possible when you are using the latest generation of business solutions,” says Bigwood.
Showcase 2016 includes a strong focus on Cloud technologies and in Auckland will feature a keynote address by Nimesh Dave, Executive Vice President, Global Cloud, Ingram Micro Inc. Based in the USA, Dave is a member of the Ingram Micro worldwide executive team and is responsible for the overall strategic direction, sales growth and business development of the company’s global cloud business unit.
Bigwood says this is a rare chance to hear about Ingram’s global vision for the Cloud from one of its primary strategic architects.
“It’s not often that we get speakers of Dave’s calibre visiting in New Zealand – this is a chance to hear about our global views on the Cloud and what it means both for the future of technology and for business. We will have a significant Cloud presence at the show and will be showcasing a number of exciting platforms,” says Bigwood.
Other Showcase 2016 highlights include a strong education focus and outstanding New Zealand keynote speakers such as Dr Michelle Dickinson, senior lecturer at The University of Auckland, aka Nanogirl, and Frances Valintine, founder and CEO of Mindlab.
“There’s so much happening at Showcase this year that we’ve had to find creative ways to fit it all in. Showcase really is a great opportunity to not only see the latest products and solutions, but to meet colleagues and build new relationships across the New Zealand technology community. We’re really looking forward to seeing everyone there,” says Bigwood.
