Vector’s new EV Charging App goes live
The first Electric Vehicle (EV) app to be developed in New Zealand, and available at the Apple Store and Google Play, is now here.
The EV charging app will help allay ‘range anxiety' by providing real time information that EV drivers can easily access to plan their journey. Designed to help drivers locate Vector's charger stations across Auckland, the intention is to expand it so that charging stations across the country can be included.
Compatible with Apple and android devices, the free app allows drivers to find and get directions to EV chargers, see whether it is a standard or rapid charger and whether it is compatible with the vehicle's port type.
Users can also filter to search for charger stations by port type, type of charger and availability. It also provides other essential information such as the live status of Vector's rapid chargers so that drivers know if they are available or already in use before getting there.
Vector welcomes owners of other charging stations to contact them with the details of their charging stations for inclusion in the app.
Vector has 20 EV charger stations on its rapidly expanding network and has plans to install another nine rapid chargers and five standard chargers in the coming months.
To download the EV charging app please go to the Apple Store or Google Play (play.google.com)
