Infrastructure pipeline needs to work for New Zealand
BusinessNZ has welcomed the trans-Tasman infrastructure pipeline launched in Sydney today, saying it will assist with attracting investors, suppliers and developers of infrastructure to Australia and New Zealand.
The Australia New Zealand Infrastructure Pipeline (ANZIP) contains over a hundred large current and future infrastructure projects in both countries that Australian and New Zealand companies will be able to work on.
BusinessNZ Chief Executive Kirk Hope says the value of the approach lies in the transparency of upcoming projects within the pipeline, allowing for better involvement and planning by construction companies across Australia and New Zealand.
"A trans-Tasman approach should help companies in both countries gain and grow investment and work in a more integrated way.
"It will be important that the agreement is backed up by measures that will see New Zealand businesses gain fair access to Australian opportunities.
"The objective should be to grow the pie for construction work for both Australian and New Zealand businesses."
