Plant Closures at Mossburn And Wairoa Confirmed
Wednesday 26 October: Silver Fern Farms is working with staff at its Frasertown mutton processing plant at Wairoa and its South Island Mossburn venison plant on options to transfer to alternative sites in its network following the closure of the two small sites today.
Employees at Mossburn are being given options to work at the company’s Waitane, Kennington or Finegand sites. Wairoa Frasertown employees will have the option of transferring to Takapau or Pacific in the Central Hawke’s Bay.
Resource centres have been set up at the sites to assist staff through the transition.
