Powerhouse congratulates CropLogic, Invert and MARS on TIN100 Awards recognition
20 October 2016 - One of New Zealand’s leading intellectual property commercialisation firms, Powerhouse, today congratulated three of its companies - CropLogic, Invert Robotics and MARS Bio-imaging - on being named three of the ten most promising early stage companies at the annual TIN100 Awards announced in Auckland last night.
The prestigious awards were presented in conjunction with the launch of the twelfth annual TIN100 Report, an analysis of the performance of the top 200 New Zealand-founded high-tech companies.
Colin Dawson, Chief Operating Officer, said: “Having three of the top ten most promising early stage New Zealand companies as part of our portfolio is very exciting, and is positive evidence of the success of our investment and IP commercialisation model. Powerhouse has over many years been instrumental in establishing CropLogic, Invert Robotics and MARS Bio-imaging and shaping their strategic direction and growth.
“CropLogic is a leading provider of end-to-end agronomy services to global crop-growers and we are delighted to see it recognised for its important work.
“Invert Robotics uses its breakthrough technology enabling robots to climb and inspect a range of industrial surfaces quickly and safely, greatly reducing the health and safety risks associated with tank inspections.
“MARS Bio-imaging is developing its spectral imaging technology based on the Medipix3 detector chip developed at CERN. To date, the Company has developed the world’s first preclinical spectral x-ray CT scanner and has sold several systems to leading researchers in New Zealand and overseas.
“The respective company management and teams should be incredibly proud – having been singled out as being some of New Zealand’s most innovative companies,” Mr Dawson said.
“We also wish to congratulate the other companies on their nominations as promising early stage New Zealand companies. The strength of the field demonstrates that New Zealand is a centre for exciting new technology based companies”, Mr Dawson added.
The TIN100 Awards recognise the top technology exporters in New Zealand in the areas of ICT, High-tech Manufacturing and Biotechnology. More information, including access to the 2016 TIN100 report can be found at: http://www.tin100.com/
