Munch Food Awards 2016
The Munch Food Awards are back with a little bit of innovation in the mix this year.
We have a brand new Supreme Award Judge, the fabulous Dr Julie Boshale. We are also teaming up with the Heart Foundation and getting on board with their Kids Choice menu campaign.
The Munch Food Awards are an opportunity for parents to have their say about some of the key issues relating to food and kids. Nominations are open now until 3 November. Voting for the winners will commence on 7 November. Our judges will then evaluate the Supreme Award Winner contenders with results published on the 5 December.
Best Kids Food Menu changes
We have made some exciting changes to the Best Kids Food Menu category this year.
Munch has teamed up with Heart Foundation and their Kids' Choice intitiative and the winner of this category will also be put forward to compete for the Supreme Award 2016.
We will be considering the Kids' Choice criteria when evaluating the winner of this category this year. The top ten chosen by voting will have their menus assessed by the Kids' Choice creator Asher Regan.
Kids' Choice is a fabulous new initiative that aims to support and promote food services that provide healthier options to children. It works by allowing food services to use uor Kids' Choice branding on their menus to highlight the healthier choices.

However, our kids are constantly targets for junk food ads, whenever they switch on the TV, walk down the street, surf the internet, or even go out to play sport. It’s tough for parents!
The Awards give parents and whanau a chance to have their say about the food industry in relation to their kids. Parents have a voice through the Munch Food Awards nomination and voting process.
