Aurecon appoints new Global Leader in Asset Management

The growing demand for life-cycle asset management services has prompted global engineering and advisory firm Aurecon to appoint Dr Abe Nezamian as its Global Leader in Asset Management.

According to Dr Nezamian, the asset management industry stands on the edge of a number of fundamental shifts that will shape the future of the industry. “Global asset management is increasingly focused on managing assets more cost effectively, achieving better design and delivery outcomes, changing regulatory frameworks and maintaining higher safety standards,” he said.

Dr Nezamian has been advising clients in Australia, the UK, the US, the Middle East, South East Asia and West Africa on asset integrity management and asset management matters for well over a decade. He has worked across a range of industries including mining, transport and infrastructure, with deep experience in the petroleum industry in upstream, mid-stream and downstream environments.

He is a widely published authority on asset condition assessment/management and life extension, management strategy, decision support tools, OPEX/CAPEX optimisation and best in practice asset management programs.

He has a PhD in offshore structures and a post doctorate in the rehabilitation of aged infrastructure, is a task group (Strategy) Co-Chair for development of OGP (ISO SIM Global Standard), is a member of ISOPE scientific and technical committees and is Chairman of the Global FPSO Integrity Management community. He has also held the ASME International Petroleum Technology Institute Award consecutively from 2011-2016.

Brad McBean, Aurecon’s Managing Director Global Advisory, said Dr Nezamian has been selected because of his market eminence in asset integrity, collaborative leadership style, global mindset and courage to lead.

“We are investing in strong leaders that augment and build on our Advisory offerings. Abe is bringing subject matter expertise and advisory capability to a major growth area for Aurecon. He will play an important role in developing our global asset management teams and serving our clients’ most significant asset management challenges and opportunities”.
