Apple Pay Arrives for The Warehouse Group brands’ customers
AUCKLAND, New Zealand —13 October 2016 — The Warehouse Group today brings its customers Apple Pay, which is transforming
mobile payments with an easy, secure and private way to pay that’s fast and convenient.
The Warehouse Group includes New Zealand’s largest general merchandiser The Warehouse, technology retailer Noel Leeming,
Warehouse Stationery, and outdoor retailer Torpedo7. Eligible customers will be able to use Apple Pay at any of The
Warehouse Group brands’ payment terminals throughout the country, including 93 The Warehouse stores, 77 Noel Leeming
stores, 66 Warehouse Stationery stores and 12 Torpedo7 stores.
Security and privacy is at the core of Apple Pay. When you use a credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the actual card
numbers are not stored on the device, nor on Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned,
encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element on your device. Each transaction is authorized with a one-time
unique dynamic security code.
Warehouse Group CFO Mark Yeoman says, "We are excited to be able to introduce Apple Pay and grow our digital capability
and customer payment options in-store. The new payment method is just another way we can make our customers’ in-store
experience simple and enjoyable."
Apple Pay is easy to set up and users will continue to receive all of the rewards and benets offered by credit and debit
cards. In stores, Apple Pay works with iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and later, and Apple Watch.
