Upstart startup trumps the competition
An enterprising new business has taken out the top spot in this year’sThe David Awards: heroes in small business.
Identify Marketing & Consultants were finalists in both the Most Outstanding Fledgling Business and the Most Outstanding Lifestyle Business categories.
“The fact that a Fledgling category entrant took out the Supreme Award this year is testimony to Identify Marketing & Consulting's clear vision and strong execution”, says Judge Pam Martin.
Another Judge, Glenn Baker, agrees: “This year's David Awards will be remembered not only for the high calibre and high diversity of entries; but also for the fact that the Supreme Winner was a fledgling business. This is a 'first' for the awards and is testimony to how quickly a new enterprise can get up to speed when it is resourced, managed and planned accordingly. And, of course, it requires a large amount of commitment, passion and hard work by the owner. “
For the past nine years, The David Awards have been recognising the unsung heroes in home and small businesses throughout New Zealand – the Kiwi Davids taking on the Goliaths of the New Zealand business landscape.
