The 2016 Hawke’s Bay Tourism Award winners announced
Last night close to 150 Hawke’s Bay tourism providers and industry members gathered at MTG Theatre for the fifth annual Hawke’s Bay Tourism Industry Awards.
Hosted by Shane Cortese, New Zealand actor, singer and performer, the night was full of fun and glamour as the regional tourism industry celebrated local tourism businesses delivering exceptional visitor experiences.
The judged award categories were; Activity & Attraction sponsored by Hastings District Council, Small and Large Accommodation sponsored by Central Linen Service and Small Business sponsored by Napier City Council. A Supreme Award winner, sponsored by EIT, was selected from the four category winners. There was also a “People’s Choice” Award which was voted for by the public.
Also acknowledged at the Hawke’s Bay Tourism Awards were three individuals who have made significant contributions to our industry. Di Ross of Cottages of St Andrews was recognised as Ambassador for Tourism in Hawke’s Bay, Rebecca Tacon of Planit Event received the Rising Star Award, and Neil Fergus received a Services to Tourism Award.
Hawke’s Bay Tourism General Manager Annie Dundas said “It’s important to recognise and celebrate the local businesses who work incredibly hard to deliver exceptional experiences for visitors to Hawke’s Bay.
