FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hamilton’s strong economy
and geographic location make it a great choice for Auckland
businesses looking to relocate.
Hamilton City Council’s City Growth General Manager Kelvyn Eglinton says Hamilton is an economic powerhouse and is receiving interest from business looking to relocate to Hamilton.
“We have already received queries from companies in Auckland, and further afield, that are looking to relocate due to increasing costs in Auckland,” says Mr Eglinton.
“Often it’s companies looking to relocate certain divisions, particularly in the innovation and research and development, given Hamilton’s relative strengths in those areas.
“Compared to Auckland, Hamilton has more competitive wage rates, affordable housing and land available for business development. Hamilton also has the best broadband coverage in the country and has ultrafast fibre broadband available.”
Hamilton’s strong economy, which grew 3.6 per cent in the last year, is based on high-value manufacturing, logistics and freight, technology and IT, education, health and agritech.
Hamilton is home to half of New Zealand’s top ten exporting companies; Gallaghers, AFFCO, NDA Engineering, Greenlea Meats and the Dairy Goat Co-operative.
At $437,000, Hamilton average house price continues to be below that of Auckland, Tauranga and New Zealand’s other major cities
Hamilton City Council’s role in economic development is to create the best possible business environment for businesses to invest with certainty and confidence.
