Bay exporters to hear about Brexit implications

Hawke’s Bay exporters will get a first-hand insight into the implications for them of the United Kingdom leaving the European Union, when the British High Commissioner speaks next week at an ExportNZ Hawke’s Bay event.

His Excellency Jonathan Sinclair will speak at the Hawke’s Bay Business Hub, Napier, next Tuesday about Brexit and what it will mean for exporters, and for New Zealand in general.

ExportNZ Hawke’s Bay Executive Officer Amanda Liddle says it will be an excellent opportunity for companies presently trading or looking to trade with the UK market to find out the latest on Brexit.

“The United Kingdom’s vote to leave Europe has been one of the most talked about global events since the fall of the Berlin Wall, and since then there has been a great deal of discussion about what the decision means for people and businesses working in, visiting or trading with the UK and the EU.

“Mr Sinclair will give us valuable insights into the future of Britain and what it will look like for those looking to engage with them as a new single market, what it means for the UK-New Zealand relationship, and the role that the UK will play in the world once it leaves the European Union.”
