Winter runs hot for Mitsubishi Motors NZ
Mitsubishi Motors NZ is on track to record its seventh consecutive year of growth, bolstered by an outstanding month of
sales in August – up 36% on the same month last year.
Mitsubishi sold 793 vehicles in August and has grown its overall market share to 6.6% this financial year. The result
sees the company strengthen its fifth-place position on the manufacturers leaderboard, clear of traditionally close
competitors Nissan and Hyundai.
Top performers in the Mitsubishi range included the ever-popular ASX crossover (170 registrations), family-favourite
Outlander (146) and recently launched high-spec Pajero Sport (115), which recorded its biggest month of sales to date.
Mitsubishi head of sales and marketing strategy Daniel Cook said that all laurels have been hidden from sight and there
is absolutely no risk of anyone resting on them.
“We are proud of what we’ve achieved as a company,” said Mr Cook, “but more pleased still that we are able to offer our
customers enjoyable driving experiences, in excellently appointed vehicles, at unbeatable value – all backed by what is
still the best new car warranty available in New Zealand.
“The appeal across our range is such that we have strong performers in every category. The new model Outlander arrives
later this month, packed with more smart features than ever before – it’s another ace up our sleeve, as we look to build
on our success this year.”
Details on the new Outlander range will be released soon.
