BNZ Confidence Survey Results - August 2016
Business Sentiment Strong
Our latest BNZ Confidence Survey elicited over 570 responses from Weekly Overview readers and the overwhelming tone of sentiment is positive. Construction, civil engineering, horticulture and tourism are all very strong. Staff shortages are evident across a wide range of sectors. In residential real estate listings are in very short supply though some investors have pulled back following introduction of the 40% minimum deposit requirement.
We also once again asked respondents how they feel about house prices rising. For the first time more people are unhappy than happy – but only just. A gross 34% of people are Unhappy, 31% Happy, and 35% Indifferent.
