Network News for week ending 28/8/16: Charge up and fly out

Vector Network News for the week ending 28 August 2016

Charge up and fly out

Vector’s expanding network of EV chargers now stretches as far as Auckland Airport with the launch of two rapid charging stations on Friday 26 August.

Launched by the Minister of Transport, Hon Simon Bridges, the charging stations are in an easy and accessible location for EV drivers heading to and from Auckland Airport.

The addition was well received by EV drivers attending the event, who have a growing confidence they are always in easy range on Vector’s network to recharge their vehicles.

Vector’s Chief Executive Simon Mackenzie says Vector welcomed the opportunity to work alongside Auckland Airport in providing the infrastructure to support sustainable travel and the Government’s Electric Vehicle Programme.

The latest installation brings the total number of EV rapid charging stations to 12 which includes two rapid chargers to open this week at the BP Connect Pakuranga.

In addition to the charging station at Auckland Airport Shopping Centre, Vector also has charging stations in Newmarket and Hobson Street in central Auckland, Kings Plant Barn in Silverdale, McDonald’s Greenlane, BP Connect Pakuranga, Britomart Carpark, Vodafone Events Centre and Northwest shopping centre.
