InternetNZ will be a voice for the Internet on Intelligence Bill
InternetNZ acknowledges the Government’s Intelligence and Security Bill, which broadly implements the recommendations of the Independent Reviews of Intelligence and Security.
Jordan Carter, Chief Executive said “We have already considered the review and, while we support greater oversight and accountability, we remain concerned by matters such as the breadth covered by the proposed definition of national security. You can read our briefing on the Independent review’s report on our website.”
As a voice for the Internet, InternetNZ will be making a submission to the Select Committee in due course. “We encourage members of the Internet Community to engage in the Parliamentary process, and we will be talking with the Internet Community as we prepare our submission” said Mr Carter.
