Kiwi Startup Makes Smooth Moves Easy
Kiwi Startup Makes Smooth Moves Easy
FOR IMMEDIATE
RELEASE: 15 August 2016
New Zealand startup MoovMe has just launched its service
which makes light work of one of life’s most stressful
events: moving.
“Before MoovMe, if you were moving, you’d need to spend hours going through and updating your address with each and every company and organisation that had it on record,” explains CEO Claudia Smith.
“There’s only so much crappy hold music a person should have to listen to in life: none. So we decided to create MoovMe to make all that a thing of the past.”
Users simply go to MoovMe.co.nz, register their details for free, and update their address just the one time when they move.
All the organisations they choose to share their information with - such as utilities, insurance companies, banks, and services they subscribe to - are automatically updated with the user’s new address.
That means everything is seamlessly transferred to their new address in time for moving day.
“It’s simple, but brilliant,” says Claudia Smith, who founded MoovMe with Russell Smith (no relation) after discussing the pains they’d each experienced from previous moving experiences.
The service is and always will be free for users, with MoovMe monetising the platform by acting as a referrer to other services, such as furniture movers, and charging those businesses for the referrals.
“MoovMe.co.nz is the only website you need when moving,” says Russell Smith, who’s also founded successful startups Reg the Dog andWhereabouts.
“We connect users to all the services they need for a smooth move, and everyone likes smooth moves. Not only do our users avoid the headaches of making sure everyone has their correct address, but they also get great discounts and deals from some of New Zealand's best retailers, as well as relocation and service providers.”
The service also solves a serious problem for the more than 100 businesses so far registered on the platform.
Ensuring businesses have accurate and up-to-date contact information for their clients is critical in minimising the risk of misdirected mail, and in some cases: identity theft or fraud.
Keeping on top of client contact information can cost a business significant time and resources but that hard work is done for them when their clients use MoovMe.
Claudia and Russell Smith, who worked together at Experian - the world’s largest credit bureau and data services business - plan to expand MoovMe throughout New Zealand before moving into Australia by the end of the year.
