Women in Property leaders to discuss Auckland’s future
Property Council New Zealand Women in Property invites the public to attend our ‘Future of Auckland’ event. We have a
stellar array of women speakers, from across the property industry, who’ll share their thoughts in a panel discussion on
Auckland’s future. This is an opportunity to hear from industry leaders and ask the questions vexing you about Auckland.
The event will be moderated by Anne Gibson, Property Editor for the New Zealand Herald. Our speakers are:
Angela Bull - Chief Executive, Tramco Group
Helen O’Sullivan - Chief Executive, Ockham Residential
Kate Healy - Chief Operating Officer, Ngati Whatua Orakei Whai Rawa
Sue Simons - Partner, Berry Simons Environmental Law
Tracey Wadsworth - General Manager Assets and Development, Tamaki Regeneration Company
The panel discussion will focus on the economic, environmental, political and social drivers that will shape Auckland’s
future.
“Auckland has changed for the better so much over the last fifteen to twenty years, and has huge potential. However, the
importance of pulling the right policy levers at central and local level can’t be understated, especially if we are
going to meet the challenges of growth and capture the opportunities available to us” argues Helen O’Sullivan.
“A key driver for a successful Auckland is to deliver the social and economic infrastructure at a pace that ensures the
people who will live here will have the opportunity to achieve lasting social, physical and economic well-being,” says
Tracey Wadsworth.
For Kate Healy, the importance of community buy-in is crucial to Auckland’s future development and growth. “My hope for
Auckland’s future is that it is a smart, well-functioning, international city that continues to be a great place to
live, play and work. I think that the ground work for those outcomes is being laid now. However, to get there we will
need to be compassionate and must ensure that the whole community is brought on the journey”.
Future of Auckland will be held on Tuesday 23 August, starting at 5.15pm in the Ballroom at the Crowne Plaza, Auckland.
