Amazon awards consulting partnership to Hamilton based Dynamo6
Hamilton based IT services company Dynamo6 has been awarded Waikato’s only consulting partnership for Amazon Web Services (AWS), the fastest growing subsidiary of amazon.com, the well-known international e-commerce company.
Established about a decade ago, AWS is a cloud services platform offering computing power, database storage, content delivery and other services, and counts international success stories Netflix and Qantas as its clients, as well as local ones such as Xero and Tainui Group Holdings (TGH).
AWS has fifteen partnerships across NZ, with Dynamo6 being the first and only one in the Waikato.
Igor Matich, managing director of Dynamo6, says the team’s certifications as technical AWS experts helped it obtain the prized partnership.
“We are delighted about this as it gives Waikato organisations local expertise and access to AWS as one of the world’s leading cloud platforms,” he says.
“AWS is suited to any organisation wanting to benefit from cloud computing as a cost effective way to manage IT while helping people work better, easier and faster, with more flexibility. It is particularly good as a platform to build applications to help businesses scale and grow.
“Having our head office in Hamilton, we know how important it is for organisations to maintain a base in the Waikato, but also take advantage of other regional economies.
“Cloud computing is the best way to support remote or mobile workers – we can live in the Waikato because it’s a great place to be, but work anywhere,” he says.
AWS is ten times the size of all other cloud service providers put together, including Microsoft and Google. Its point of difference is the highly efficient modular build of its software and the ability for organisations to only pay for what’s used.
Part of the background to Dynamo6 being awarded the AWS consulting partnership is its successful migration of Tainui Group Holdings’ (TGH) IT infrastructure to being 100 per cent cloud based.
Tainui Group Holdings is the intergenerational investor for Waikato-Tainui with diversified investments across property, hotels, fishing, farms and forestry and direct investments in leading businesses.
"It’s a challenge to manage IT across multiple businesses in different sectors but this project demonstrates how cloud services can support a multi-faceted organisation, while also respecting community values of guardianship, care for each other and building trust, respect and integrity,” he says.
Dynamo6 uses digital solutions to make businesses better and specialises in cloud, mobile and web development solutions. Established solely as a cloud services provider it helps people and organisations work smarter, faster and more cost-effectively, while being better connected, anytime, anywhere.
