Air New Zealand’s Safety in Hollywood another online blockbuster

The latest instalment in Air New Zealand’s inflight safety videos has been launched to critical acclaim this week.

Safety in Hollywood was viewed more than 1.5 million times in the first 24 hours after it premiered to audiences globally, and numbers continue to climb.

As well as being a hit online, the video has been featured in global news media outlets including Mashable, CNN and the Daily Mail.

Starring New Zealand’s own Rhys Darby and Hollywood star of the hit TV show, Mom and the Scary Movie films, Anna Faris, the video filmed at Warner Bros. Studios in Los Angeles shows the duo exploring a variety of Hollywood genre as Darby tries to convince Faris to star in an Air New Zealand safety video.

Air New Zealand Head of Global Brand Jodi Williams says the Hollywood theme was a fitting choice for the airline which flies to Los Angeles twice daily.

“Our Auckland to LA non-stop service is extremely popular so it was great to bring some of the Hollywood glamour along with some humour to our latest inflight safety video. It’s amazing to see people the world over getting to know the Air New Zealand brand though this platform which has proven extremely popular around the world, both online and onboard our services.

“It’s also been fantastic to partner again with Warner Bros. which helped to produce our Hobbit-inspired inflight safety videos and to work with the talented Rhys and Anna,” says Ms Williams.

Collectively, Air New Zealand’s safety videos have been viewed online more than 84 million times.
