Cleverman Heads to New Zealand’s TVNZ

July 21, 2016 - Goalpost Pictures Australia, New Zealand’s Pukeko Pictures, TVNZ, alongside Entertainment One (eOne) who handle domestic sales on the series for Australia and New Zealand, have announced that Cleverman has been sold to TVNZ.

All six episodes of the critically acclaimed series, which was recently renewed for a second season, will be available from Monday July 25 on TVNZ OnDemand, and the series will air on DUKE at a later date.

CLEVERMAN is an official Australian/New Zealand co-production between Goalpost Pictures Australia and Pukeko Pictures. Cleverman was filmed on location in Sydney, Australia, with Wellington-based Park Road Post Production providing picture, visual effects and sound post production services. The creature design in the series is by New Zealand’s five-time Academy Award®-Winning Weta Workshop (The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit motion picture trilogies, King Kong, Avatar, The Chronicles of Narnia, District 9, Elysium and Chappie).

The series is an original concept commissioned by the ABC TV Indigenous Department and co-produced with Sundance TV and Red Arrow International, who handle rights outside Australia and New Zealand, with the assistance of Screen Australia, Screen NSW and the New Zealand Screen Production Grant.Cleverman has also been sold to the UK’s BBC3.
