More choice for NZ Post parcel customers

4 July 2016

More choice for NZ Post parcel customers

New Zealand Post and its courier service CourierPost are making it easier for people to receive their parcels first time with an improved range of delivery options.

“We know how frustrating it is when customers miss delivery the first time and receive a card asking them to collect their parcels,” says Ashley Smout, Group General Manager of Customer Engagement. “We’re working to reduce numbers of ‘cards to call’ by giving customers more choice about where and when they receive their parcels.”

Parcel Leave means a parcel can be left at a customer’s address even if they’re not home to sign for it, and can be left in an agreed place at the address.

Parcel Redirect gives customers the option of having parcel delivery redirected to a number of New Zealand Post retailers and CourierPost depots, as well as a growing list of participating Countdown supermarkets. Selected Z service stations are also trialling collection points in Wellington.

Currently parcels can be redirected to 11 Countdown stores in Auckland and six Z stations in Wellington. Over the next month, parcel collection locations will be extended to include an additional 27 Countdown stores in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin.

“The addition of Countdown supermarkets and Z stations to our own retail collection points is providing greater convenience to our customers as they can pick up their parcels after work hours, when they’re out at the supermarket, or stopping for petrol,” says Ashley Smout.

“We’ll be telling people about our improved parcel delivery options in the next phase of our You can advertising campaign.”

Fronting the campaign is Parris Goebel, a New Zealand dancer and choreographer making a big impression on the world hip-hop dance stage.

“Parris is driven and successful. Like many of our customers, she’s always busy and is demanding more control of how and when she gets her parcels,” says Ashley Smout.

Parris Goebel says she is excited to be part of the New Zealand Post campaign.

“I like to be in control, and I know NZ Post is all about giving their customers control,” says Parris Goebel. “My life is very fast moving and I have no time to be waiting for things. I love that NZ Post allows customers to make decisions and have greater choice.”
