Time to learn from the wreckage: CAA
The Civil Aviation Authority has hit the road, bringing its annual AvKiwi Safety Seminar to Wellington.
The message this year is What happened here? Sifting the lessons from the wreckage.
“Using animation, real-time video, and interviews with the major players,” says veteran AvKiwi presenter and last year’s CAA Instructor of the Year, Carlton Campbell, “we’ve re-created six incidents and accidents to demonstrate the sort of decision-making that can save lives and aircraft. And the sort of decision-making that doesn’t.
“There’s a saying in aviation, ‘Learn from the mistakes of others. You won’t live long enough to make them all yourself’.
“This is a great opportunity for Wellington pilots to do just that.”
The Wellington What Happened Here? seminar is free to attend and will be held at CAA National Office, Level 15, Asteron Centre, 55 Featherston Street on Wednesday 29 June at 7 pm.
