Brand new winter tourism campaign for Hawke’s Bay
Hawke’s Bay Tourism have released their new, visually stunning winter campaign, “Hunker down in Hawke’s Bay this winter”. Increased funding from the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council has allowed the organisation to advertise the region year round. This campaign is part of Hawke’s Bay Tourism’s Seasonal Campaign Strategy and it is the first time a winter campaign has been run.
While it might be the winter season, there is still plenty to do in Hawke’s Bay. This is the perfect opportunity for visitors to come, hunker down and experience our Hawke’s Bay lifestyle.
The “Hunker down in Hawke’s Bay” winter campaign will feature from early June through to early July targeting the Auckland region. This campaign prominently runs through digital channels combining web banners with social media channels to gain maximum cut through.
In addition to the digital element of this winter campaign, this is the first time Hawke’s Bay Tourism have utilised digital Adshels in prominent Auckland spots to help drive their message. According to research conducted by Fiftyfive5 and Adshel, out of home advertising can increase campaign effectiveness by over 20% and increase product recall.
Annie Dundas, General Manager of Hawke’s Bay Tourism said she was delighted with the imagery produced by Brian Culy for this campaign. “The expression, ‘a picture paints a thousand words’, is so true. The photographs for this campaign really capture the essence of Hawke’s Bay and transport you there, which is exactly what we were hoping for”. Locations used for the Winter Campaign include Marine Parade with the new Viewing Platform and Art Deco backdrop, Black Barn Retreat Poplars 7, and Te Mata Peak.
The tourism industry is also being encouraged to use email signatures with the “Hunker down in Hawke’s Bay this Winter” tagline.
