Tax Tracker Web App
Maxim Institute’s Income Tax Tracker app is a great way to make talk of the Budget more interesting for the average New Zealander. Over the last few years, we’ve developed and refined the app as a great, shareable bit of interactive web content.
The web app is free for everyone, and lets New Zealanders put the billions of dollars in the Budget into the context of their personal income, and the tax they pay.
Check it out here, it's optimised for desktop and mobile users.
With figures updated already from the Budget released yesterday, users will be able to instantly compare the spending commitments in this Budget to last year’s spending, and see how Government spending of their tax dollars has changed.
There’s also the Tax FAQ’s page, where everyone can get their tax questions answered, from the simple stuff like “What is tax?” to stuff like “Why do I have to pay extra tax on stuff like alcohol and petrol?”
Link to the app using mytaxtracker.co.nz. The Tax Tracker project is powered by the team at Maxim Institute, as part of our goal to inform, and encourage engagement with public life in New Zealand.
