Air New Zealand says “Good Evening Queenstown”
Air New Zealand has tonight
operated its first commercial evening service into
Queenstown, kicking off the winter season.
After an extensive approval process involving multiple stakeholders, including Air New Zealand, Queenstown Airport Corporation, Airways New Zealand and the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority, NZ613 from Auckland arrived in the popular resort town at around 7.20pm.
Air New Zealand’s full evening schedule takes effect from 3 July 2016 when the last evening flight will depart Queenstown at7:30pm and the last arrival will land at 9:35pm.
Air New Zealand Chief Sales and Commercial Officer Cam Wallace says the airline’s new Queenstown schedule will offer more choice and flexibility to travellers.
“It’s exciting for us to launch these new flights now, ahead of the upcoming winter ski season. For the first time, our customers will be able to make the most of an entire winter weekend away in Queenstown – flying in on a Friday evening and spending the whole weekend before flying out on a Sunday evening. In turn it obviously provides more flexibility for Queenstown locals whether they’re wanting to get away for work or leisure.”
The new evening schedule will see Air New Zealand grow capacity between Auckland and Queenstown by 15 percent in FY17 with an additional 100,000 seats.
The full schedule from 3 July 2016 is as follows:
