Introducing the NZ Excellence in IT Awards

The New Zealand Excellence in IT Awards are sector-wide awards recognising the individuals and teams who have truly
excelled in our industry. While other awards do a great job of recognising companies and vendors, the Excellence in IT
Awards exclusively celebrates our people.
The Excellence in IT Awards are a broad collaboration of ten IT representative bodies and associations including:
The Institute of IT Professionals NZ (IITP)
NZRise
The IT Service Management Forum (itSMFnz)
CITRENZ
NZ Software Association
Internet NZ
Project Management Institute of NZ
Health Informatics NZ
GOVIS, and
The NZ Open Source Society
The Excellence in IT Awards has one aim: to recognise the very best in our profession. To that end, we are calling for
nominations rather than entries – we want you to nominate those you think are doing a great job, says IITP Chief
Executive, Paul Matthews.
“We are deliberately asking for nominations rather than entries because we all know those people who do a tremendous job
but who don’t like to blow their own trumpet. This is your chance, as IT professionals, to nominate someone for their
hard work.”
The awards are split into two segments: sector awards and three supreme awards.

Tech Entrepreneur of the Year in partnership with InternetNZ
Young IT Professional of the Year in partnership with NZRise
New Zealand IT Professional of the Year
Nominations are open now and close 3 June. Finalists will be announced on 23 June and the winners announced at the Gala
Dinner as part of the ITx Conference on 12 July.
