Jennie Langley first independent Chair of Electricity Retailers’ Association

The Electricity Retailers’ Association of New Zealand (ERANZ) has appointed Jennie Langley as its inaugural Independent Chair.

Ms Langley is an experienced professional with governance and operational experience across the primary industries, education, infrastructure and tourism sectors. She has held positions as an elected or appointed board member and independent chair, and has worked as an external consultant or in-house public affairs advisor to senior management teams in Australia, Malaysia, The Netherlands, and New Zealand.

Current and recent governance positions include appointments to the Tourism Growth Partnership Independent Panel of Experts, New Zealand Council of Legal Education, Te Araroa Trust, Tourism New Zealand, and Biosecurity Ministerial Advisory Committee. Previous positions include Independent Chair and CEO of the New Zealand Hotel Council, Government Relations and Public Policy Advisor of the Brewers Association of Australia and New Zealand, Director of Corporate Affairs at Carter Holt Harvey, and as .an appointee on Opus International and Energy Efficiency Conservation Authority boards. Her term started on 1 May and is for three years.

Ms Langley will lead a nine-member Board which comprises representatives from across the sector: David Goadby, General Manager Retail – Genesis Energy;

Venasio-Lorenzo Crawley, Chief Customer Officer – Contact;

Andrew Peckham, Operations Manager – Mighty River Power;

Neal Barclay, General Manager Retail – Meridian;

Craig Neutroski, General Manager Trading – Trustpower;

Terry Barstead, General Manager Sales & Marketing – Nova Energy;

Neil Williams, General Manager Energy Supply & Operations – Pulse Energy; and

Michael Skates, CEO – Prime Energy

The ERANZ Chief Executive is Jenny Cameron, who was appointed in February 2016.
