Vector’s electric vehicle chargers are being kept busy. The statistics for last week are enlightening.
The chargers were used, on average 17.85 times per day.
Vector’s busiest charger last week was Hobson Street with 26 charges consuming 114 kWh.
The average length of the charging sessions was 18.05 minutes.
Megawatt hours consumed to date are 12016.293 Mwh equating to 69,458 km (energy used by a Nissan Leaf) – 3.5 return trips from Auckland to London.

Electricity
Vector crews had another busy week dealing with car v pole and car v pillar incidents. A total of nine crashes happened in East Tamaki, Papakura, Papatoetoe, Kumeu (2), Mangere, Lynfield, Howick and Pahurehure.
The Fire Service requested Vector crews to attend three house/building fires in Papatoetoe, Massey and Otara. This was to isolate the electricity supply for safety.
Gas
Third party contractors caused damage to our networks in Northcote Point, Huapai and Meadowbank.
